Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency BPDPKS Raises IDR 69 Trillion of Palm Oil PE Funds
The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) has collected oil palm export levy (PE) funds of Rp. 40 trillion in 2019.
BPD-PKS President Director Eddy Abdurrachman said the funds were used to run programs that were already running. "The programs are mandatory for biodiesel, the community palm oil rejuvenation program (PSR), the provision of oil palm facilities and infrastructure, research and human resource development, as well as promotion and partnership programs," said Eddy during the BPDPKS year-end press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (28 /12). The volume of palm oil exports until December 17, 2021 reached 35.88 million tons worth US$ 28.99 billion. If calculated since 2015, the value of palm oil exports for the July 2015-November 2021 period is in the range of US$ 7.70-28.99 billion. The contribution of the palm oil industry to state revenues in the form of tax revenues is approximately Rp. 20 trillion per year. The palm oil sector also contributes to the provision of employment, there are 4.20 million direct workers and 12 million indirect workers. "The palm oil industry contributes quite a lot to the economy and this keeps repeating itself because the palm oil industry is irreplaceable," he said.
