Business World Plays a Role in Overcoming Climate Change
The government expects the active role of the business community in overcoming the problem of climate change and sustainable environmental management.
One of them is participating in the Indonesia FOLU (forestry and other land use) Net Sink 2030 target plan. The action plan was launched to reduce the adverse effects of climate change because Indonesia is highly committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. "And (the business world and industry players are also expected) to be committed to supporting Indonesia's target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin when giving a speech at the 2021 PROPER Environmental Award Presentation at the Vice President's Palace, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan Number 6, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/12/2021). "In particular, I really welcome the criteria for sensitivity and responsiveness to disasters in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as new criteria in the aspect of community empowerment that have been added since 2020," said Vice President Amin.
