Coal Processing Project Incentives, Pay Royalty Free
To boost value-added products, the government has prepared a series of incentives for coal producers who develop products downstream. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated: There are six incentives and regulatory support prepared.
Among other things, first, the government will reduce the coal royalty rate specifically for coal gasification to 0%. Second, the provision of special coal prices to increase added value (gasification) at the mouth of the mine. Third, there is a regulation on the duration of the coal mining business permit (IUP) which is specifically used as a supply of coal for gasification. From here, the validity period of the IUP will be given according to the economic life of the coal gasification industry. Fourth, the government is also designing a tax holiday policy - Corporate Income Tax (PPh) specifically according to the economic age of coal gasification. Then, fifth, there is an exemption from Value Added Tax (VAT) for coal processing services into syngas at 0% (see infographic). Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ridwan Djamaluddin, said the government continues to encourage business entities to run coal downstream projects.
